Hi I have been involved in Schutzhund nearly 15 years. I was introduced to the sport, as so many are, when I had a pet German Shepherd. I started to train him and although I didnt like to admit it he wasnt the correct temperament for the sport, he was a nervous dog. Schutzhund does promote strength of character in a dog but miracles cant be performed.
I waited many years until I got my first Schutzhund dog a black bitch called Fly, she was from working lines. She was a very quick bitch and I learned a lot with her I qualified her to Sch 3 and as the Schutzhund bug had well and truly bit I then wanted a better dog Flys grip wasnt the greatest and she lives now with friends of ours. Now I am training Nike (Laetare Amnesty Is Granted) he is 2 and is doing really well, he is a grandson of Nick V Heiligenbosch.
I have been a club secretary for many years and have organized, with lots of help, many major trials.
I was so hooked to the sport that as well as me seeking to have the best Schutzhund dog I also sort out the best Schutzhund husband Chris Bows!!
