GSDL Helper Licensing Rules

Licensing will be defined to two separate grades.

Grade A
Grade A Helpers will be allowed to take part in ALL events
To qualify as a grade A:-

Attend the licensing event, and work all 3 grades with dogs which you are
not a regular trainer of.

Complete a simple fitness test and answer questions on the helper rules.
Show proof of participation in club trials were you have worked a min total
of 10 dogs.

Prove membership of the GSDL WB

Grade B
To qualify as a Grade B:-

Make arrangements with a trial secretary in good time to organise a grading
at any MAJOR trial or LICENSING event

Work with min two dogs (can be provided by your club)

Complete a simple fitness test and answer questions on the helper rules.

Prove membership of the GSDL WB

The min assessors to be:-
One fully qualified Judge (GSDL WB)
One apprentice judge (GSDL WB)

Maintenance of the licenses in BOTH cases will be as follows
During a trial the judge will evaluate performance by a pre agreed method
and submit the report to the National Coordinator were subject to
satisfactory performance licensing will be extended for a further two years
or to the next trial.
If the evaluation is less than satisfactory the helper will be asked to attend
the next licensing event were he will be reassessed, in the meantime the
helper will be suspended from the helper list, in the case of A Grade he will
be down graded to B.
It is a requirement that each helper has available at any event the following
dogs

Grade A Min 3 To be capable of a sch111 round
Grade B Min 2 One to be capable of a sch111 round

Helpers’ age limits to be: Grade ‘A’ – 18 years, Grade ‘B’ – 16 years.
